Multiplication & Division Task Cards for 4th Grade

This resource is intended to be a review and practice of Common Core Division and Multiplication standards in 4th Grade.

This resource includes:
*32 Task Cards
*Answer Sheet
*Answer Key

This resource is aligned to the following Common Core Standards:

MACC.4.OA.A.1
Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., interpret 35 = 5 x 7 as a statement that 35 is 5 times as many as 7. and 7 times as many as 5. Represent verbal statements of multiplicative comparisons as multiplication equations.

MACC.4.OA.A.3
Solve multistep word problems posed with whole numbers and having whole-number answers using the four operations, including problems in which remainders must be interpreted. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.

MACC.4.NBT.B.5
Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.

MACC.4.NBT.B.6
Find whole-number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.

The Problems are organized into the following problem types:
#1-4 Multiplicative Comparisons
#5-8 2d x 2d
#9-12 3d x 1d
#13-16 4d x 1d
#17-20 2d ÷1d
#21-24 2d ÷ 1d interpreting the remainder
#25-28 3d ÷ 1d
#29-32 4d ÷ 1d

How to Use this Product:

I used this resource in my 4th Grade classroom to practice and review Multiplication and Division at the end of the year. There are several ways to use Task Cards in your classroom, depending on your intents and purposes. Here are some of the ways I have used Task Cards in my classroom:

*Early Finisher Task

*Practice New Concepts- Give a few to groups of students, set a timer for 15 mins (or whatever works for you) and then have students rotate cards. Unfinished cards can be finished at the end or at some other time.

*SCOOT- There are SO many blog posts and free resources for this game on TpT.
