⭐️ How to use the Morphology Morning Work
This bundle is made to help you address your students’ morphology needs in the best way that fits your classroom.
Each set increases in complexity, with Set A being ideal for beginning morphology instruction, and Set D being ideal for advanced instruction.
You could also use these to differentiate in your classroom, with small groups using each of the different sets A-D at the same time.
Set E will include mixed review of all listed prefixes, suffixes and roots, so that you can provide students with a review after going through Sets A-D, or to cover more affixes and roots at once, rather than doing a focused study of each one.

Daily themes help you consistently cover critical content, keep your students engaged, and create easy routines.
✏️ Multisyllabic Monday: Monday introduces the week's prefix, suffix, or root and its meaning. Students spot it in sentences, combine it with base words to build new words, then break those words into syllables and sort them — getting comfortable reading longer words right from the start.
✏️ Transformation Tuesday: Tuesday is all about building and changing words. Students add the morpheme to base words, rewrite sentences to show how it changes the meaning, map out the meaning of each word part, and choose the right word to complete a sentence in context.
✏️ Word Work Wednesday: Wednesday puts the morpheme to work in real text. Students hunt for it in a short passage, define the words in context, fix grammar mistakes, and rewrite sentences to use the new word parts correctly.
✏️ Think it Through Thursday: Thursday is about deeper thinking. Students sort words by what the morpheme means, identify parts of speech, and decide which word truly fits. This moves students beyond recognition into real understanding.
✏️ Fluency Friday: Friday brings it all together with a short passage students read three times to build fluency. They find the week's word parts in context and answer comprehension questions that require genuine reading and thinking.
