Multiplication & Division Task Cards {Splash into Summer!}
Multiplication & Division Task Cards for 4th Grade
This resource is intended to be a review and practice of Common Core Division and Multiplication standards in 4th Grade.
This resource includes:
*32 Task Cards
*Answer Sheet
*Answer Key
This resource is aligned to the following Common Core Standards:
MACC.4.OA.A.1
Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., interpret 35 = 5 x 7 as a statement that 35 is 5 times as many as 7. and 7 times as many as 5. Represent verbal statements of multiplicative comparisons as multiplication equations.
MACC.4.OA.A.3
Solve multistep word problems posed with whole numbers and having whole-number answers using the four operations, including problems in which remainders must be interpreted. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.
MACC.4.NBT.B.5
Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
MACC.4.NBT.B.6
Find whole-number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
The Problems are organized into the following problem types:
#1-4 Multiplicative Comparisons
#5-8 2d x 2d
#9-12 3d x 1d
#13-16 4d x 1d
#17-20 2d ÷1d
#21-24 2d ÷ 1d interpreting the remainder
#25-28 3d ÷ 1d
#29-32 4d ÷ 1d
How to Use this Product:
I used this resource in my 4th Grade classroom to practice and review Multiplication and Division at the end of the year. There are several ways to use Task Cards in your classroom, depending on your intents and purposes. Here are some of the ways I have used Task Cards in my classroom:
*Early Finisher Task
*Practice New Concepts- Give a few to groups of students, set a timer for 15 mins (or whatever works for you) and then have students rotate cards. Unfinished cards can be finished at the end or at some other time.
*SCOOT- There are SO many blog posts and free resources for this game on TpT.

Thanksgiving Math {Division-4th Grade}
Thanksgiving Math {Division 4th Grade}
This resource contains 9 Thanksgiving/Turkey- Themed Journal Problems and 8 Printables for dividing with 2 and 3 digit numbers, including 4 half sheets for interpreting the remainder. One of the half sheets is a duplicate of the 4 journal problems because you may want students to see the different ways to interpret all on one page and keep in their math journal as a reference. You might also want to use this particular half sheet (What about the Leftovers?) for instruction.
The journal problems can be used to teach a skill and the practice pages can be used for independent or partner practice. Inside the folder, you will find two documents.
One document contains the Journal problems and 4 half-size pages for multiplying using the distributive property. The half-size pages could be used as a formative assessment or any way you choose. The second document contains the printable practice pages. Please see the table of contents for both documents below.
Journal Problems:
*Books on the Shelves {Estimating Quotients Using Compatible Numbers}
*Traveling Turkeys {Dividing Using the Distributive Property}
*Trotting Turkeys {Divide Using the Distributive Property}
*Division can be Tricky Turkey {Divide Using Repeated Subtraction}
*Food for Friendsgiving {Divide Using Partial Quotients)
*What do you do with the leftovers? {Interpreting the Remainder}
*What do you do with the leftovers? {Interpreting the Remainder}
*What do you do with the leftovers? {Interpreting the Remainder}
*What do you do with the leftovers? {Interpreting the Remainder}
*Journal Problems Answer Key
*What do you do with the leftovers? {Interpreting the Reminder} (Same as problems for journal, but 4 different problem types on one half sheet.)
*What do you do with the leftovers? #1 {Interpreting the Remainder} *Half Sheet Problem could be used as a formative assessment.
