This Product Includes: • Mini Flash Cards for Basic Multiplication Facts through 10’s designed to hang on a binder ring (I suggest copying on card stock OR laminating) • 11 Multiplication Quizzes for each set of facts through the 10’s (20 facts on each quiz) • 1 Multiplication Quiz containing all the facts through the 10’s (100 facts) • 11 Brag Badges for students after mastering a set of facts and also for mastering all the facts. These could be worn on a lanyard, a binder ring on their backpack, or however you choose. These are in color and can be printed and laminated to last longer or printed on card stock. • Student Progress Checklist to keep track of students’ quizzes
About this Product: This is a resource I designed for my 4th grade classroom after realizing most of my students had not mastered their basic multiplication facts. According to the Common Core Standards, students should master these facts by the end of 3rd grade. As many teachers know, this is sometimes not reality. We moved on to bigger and better concepts in my 4th grade classroom. Their lack of mastery of these facts hindered their ability to master multi-digit multiplication and division, factors and multiples, and working with fractions. Thus, this product was born. This product contains materials to help and motivate your students to master their facts as well as quizzes to assess students’ progress.
The 100 basic facts are broken down into quizzes on each fact set: 1s-10s. So, students can start with their 1s. This would be the first quiz they take. As they pass each quiz, they move on until passing all the individual quizzes and finally All the Facts. Students use the personal mini flash cards to practice facts at home or when they have extra time during class. Having these on a binder ring makes it less likely cards will get lost or scattered. Hopefully.
The Brag Badges can be used as a reward when students pass a test. If copies or printing in color is an issue for you, you could use the colored versions for passing all the facts. With the flash card printables, there are also smaller versions of Brag Badges that students can place on the binder ring. Additionally, there are flash cards for 11s, 12s, and a couple of challenge multiplication problems just for kicks.

This product comes with 24 colorful Camping-Themed Task Cards for practicing multiplication and division. The Task Cards support the following 4th Grade Standards:
MACC.4.NBT.2.5 Use place value understanding and properties of operations to perform multi-digit arithmetic.
MACC.4.OA.1.3 Use the four operations with whole numbers to solve problems.
You may also be able to use these cards as an extension for 3rd grade students or as a review for 5th grade students.
They can be printed in color or as grayscale black and white. I suggest laminating the cards and printing on card stock so they will last longer. However, I used these another way as well and printed on regular 8.5 x 11 paper and then laminated. This worked perfectly fine if you do not have card stock handy.
After laminating, you can use a book/binder ring to attach the cards. They can then become part of your Math Center as a rotation, small group, tutoring, or for review. Another suggestion for using this is to not expect students to complete all of the cards, especially your struggling students. A blank Answer Sheet is included that students can just write the number for each problem. This is wonderful to use as an early finisher task. If you decided to print Black and White, these problems could also be glued in students’ math journal.

We're Buggin' Out for Fractions, Decimals, and Money!
This product includes…. *4 Journal Problems using Fractions, Decimals, and Money *11 Printable Practice Pages {mostly bug-themed}
The problems align to the following 4th Grade Common Core State Standards for Fractions, Decimals, and Money.
MACC.NF.3.6 Use decimal notation for fractions with denominators 10 or 100.
MACC.4.NF.3.5Express a fraction with denominator 10 as an equivalent fraction with denominator 100, and use this technique to add two fractions with respective denominators 10 and 100.
MACC.4.MD.1.2 Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
MACC.4.NF.3.7 Compare two decimals to hundredths by reasoning about their size. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two decimals refer to the same whole. Record the results of comparisons with the symbols >,+, or <, and justify the conclusions, e.g., by using a visual model.
Each journal problem and printable page has an "I can…" statement to support your teaching and students' learning. Please see the table of contents for the listing of each page and journal problem included.
In my 4th grade classroom, I often introduce the lesson or new concept with a journal problem. We unpack the problem by Boxing the Math Words, Circling the Question, Underlining the Key Details of the Problem, and Envisioning the Problem.
Students may try to solve with a partner, or I may use the problem to teach my students. Then, we make notes or charts about the skill in our notebook. See an example below.. If you have any questions, concerns, comments, or feedback, please email me at Jessica@theliteracyloft.com

Writing Process Signs {Calming Blue}
Regular price
$2.00
Save $-2.00
These writing process signs will help you and your students identify the steps/parts of the writing process as well as keep track of where they are when working on a project and what to do next! Implementing a routine at the beginning of the year will help students be successful as writers throughout the year as well as in the rest of their writing life. These Writing Process Signs come in a calming blue with clear steps and visually pleasing clip art that will catch the eyes of you and your students. If you would like to see these posters in another color, please email me at help@theliteracyloft.com.
Steps Included *A Writer's Thinking labels (3 different versions, rectangle, oval, circle) *Generate Ideas *Develop & Plan *Rehearse *Draft *Revise *Edit *Peer Edit *Publish *Celebrate!
Ideas for Classroom Use These posters come landscape 11 x 8.5. If you are looking for a different format, please email me! I suggest printing and laminating each of the signs. You may or may not want to use all of the signs. In general, there are variations in the steps of the writing process. Printing on card stock would allow these signs to be more durable, but is not necessary! You could even print and slip into sheet protectors. If you do not have access to a color printer, or find that it is too expensive, simply print in gray-scale and you are good to go! Here are some ways I have used writing process signs in my classroom:
*Writing Center- Put signs in sheet protectors and then attach on a binder ring and have students use as a reference.
*Bulletin Board- Display in a row above or on a bulletin board or even in the writing center as a reminder of the steps writers go through during the writing process.
*Writers’ Tracking System- Use as a way to track your young writers’ status in the writing process. You could do this by connecting the signs using binder rings. Then, hang on a bulletin board and use clothespins with your students’ names or numbers to track where they are in the writing process.
Are you looking for something else? Please email me at help@theliteracyloft.com! I would love to add any words or signs that you use in your classroom.
Are you looking for a different color? I will be adding other versions of this same product with a different color. Please email me if you are looking for something specific!

Research Writing Unit Notebook Charts
Regular price
$6.00
Save $-6.00
This resource was a requested product to support a Research Writing Unit for 5th Grade as well as supplement Argument-Based Writing and MLA Format. The printable pages are created 2 on a page so that they can be glued inside your students' writing notebooks. Writing Notebook Charts are a tool I use to provide students strategies at their fingertips.
Why Writing Notebook Anchor Charts? Wall space has always been an issue for teachers and it would be impossible to display every chart you have ever used with your students on the walls all year round. This set includes ONLY the Writing Notebook Anchor Charts listed below. The following description is for the FULL Unit Resources.
The world of poetry is vast and full of variety. Whether you are doing a full on unit or trying to incorporate poetry among other units in your classroom, poetry can be a tool to help you meet students language, comprehension, writing, and even fluency needs. Furthermore, poetry can be integrated into content areas (see acrostic slide). The resources included in this unit can provide you with the tools you need to incorporate poetry into your classroom.
What this Product Includes:
*28 Writing Notebook Anchor Charts: These Anchor Charts are half-size pages (2 on a page) that students can glue inside their writing notebooks to get ideas, as reference sheets, or use for practice throughout the unit.
22 Large Anchor Charts/Slides: These large anchor charts/slides can be used to teach, in a writing center, or as a reference in your classroom. I have used these large charts as part of my lesson by projecting on the SMART board. After the lessons, I printed these off and put them in sheet protectors and on binder rings to use in our writing center. Students could refer to them if necessary or I have also used these to have a small group work on a specific strategy.
Common Core Standards for Teaching Poetry: Unfortunately reading and writing poetry is not explicitly defined by the Common Core Standards. However, I have included grades 3-5 Literature and Language standards that this unit could help you meet with your students. Writing poetry only helps to make children a better reader of poetry.
Suggested Teaching Points: A calendar of suggested poetry teaching points has been included to help with planning and identifying a sequence of teaching points. I suggest immersing students in reading poetry before writing poetry to study the characteristics of poetry and reading like a writer. In the future, I plan to add explicit lessons to this unit as I have done in my Narrative Writing Unit. Please email me if you are interested so that I can send you updates to this unit.
Reading a Poem: This "think sheet" will help students analyze and read a poem for meaning.
Peer Revision Checklist: This checklist can guide students to revise and edit their poems.
Thank you so much for your purchase! If you are looking for something specific that is not included in this product, I would love to hear from you! Please email me with questions, feedback, concerns, or to get on my updates mailing list.
